HELPING WHERE WE CAN
Unable to deliver our regular rugby programme to empower and teach disadvantaged kids, instead, the Lesotho Rugby Academy (LRA) HAS been able to deliver food parcels to the kids and players in Thaba Tseka and Butha-Buthe.
It is a simple fact, that the Coronavirus has exposed inequalities in societies across the world and the rural mountain town of Thaba Tseka and Butha-Buthe are no exception. Many families are struggling to find enough food and many children go to bed hungry on most days.
Schools as you know have been closed for months. This has put added pressure on families. Despite the fact that LRA coaches have been unable to visit the schools and spend time working with the learners on key life skills as we usually do, we have not forgotten those young people and the challenges that they are facing on a daily basis. With this in mind, the Lesotho Ruby Academy together with The Federation of Lesotho Rugby looked to see what could be done to support the kids of our rugby family. Luckily, we were able to secure enough food parcels for players and learners which we delivered to the kids observing social distancing guidelines and good hygiene practice.
